Hi, I’m emily
I’m a thirtysomething who has lived all over New York State — Western, NY, where I’m originally from, New York City, the Capital Region, and now, my favorite place, the Hudson Valley. I went back to school at thirty to pursue a career I knew I’d love, and spent my first few years working in community mental health before transitioning to full-time work as a therapist. My desire to become a therapist began with two of my lifelong obsessions: people and their stories. I really mean it when I say it’s an honor to hear, support, and uphold your story. I truly believe everyone has one worth telling and hearing. As a therapist, I aim to help people update or rewrite that story, or find ways to process it that go beyond what’s living in their head.
When I’m not working with clients, I also write fiction and narrative non-fiction, love to craft, spend time in nature, and try out new restaurants.
